Once again, members of the cycling community are up in arms, ready to defend the ade- quacy of every component on their current bikes. They’ve taken their old-school RockShox Judy forks off the walls, sharpened them up and are riding around, ready to joust with
anybody who tries to push a new component standard upon them. Okay, maybe it hasn’t
reached that point quite yet, but many riders are being quite vocal about their frustration with the
constantly revolving doors of the research-and-development departments of every component
manufacturer. While there will always be the curmudgeon who loathes disc brakes and heckles
anybody riding bars wider than 640 millimeters, recent changes to wheel and axle sizes have left
many wondering what’s actually necessary and what isn’t.
Change Don’t expect it to stop!
