BEST IN SHOW BIKES
The “father” of mountain biking: Whether or not you believe Gary Fisher invented
the mountain bike, there’s no denying he’s had a huge influence over the sport. He
was on hand to discuss Trek’s latest bike, the all-new mid-fat hardtail, the Stache.
The new bike can be optimized with 29+, 27. 5+ or standard 29er wheels depending
on ride style and terrain with a simple swap of the interchangeable Stranglehold
dropouts. The new bike is available in several build kits to suit the needs of nearly
any budget and will be available this summer.
Don’t ask: Geoff Gulevich shows us his
Rocky Mountain Slayer SS complete with
a prototype Manitou fork that’s yet to be
announced. The new fork appears to be
a lowered version of their Mattoc chassis,
and while there are no details yet, we’ll be
sure to keep our ears to the ground about
this special project. ❏
