Local pride: The Canadian Open Enduro presented by Specialized is part
of the Enduro World Series and brings another action-packed day to the
Crankworx festival. Local boy Jesse Melamed (racing for Rocky Mountain)
owned the mountain that day, taking first place over Sam Hill and other
wicked-fast enduro pros.
Safety first: Leatt is best known for their
protective products, including neck braces,
helmets, knee pads, elbow pads and much
more. Leatt’s DMX 5.0 Composite helmet
takes safety to the next level featuring
Leatt’s Armourgel 360 Turbine technology.
The helmet is designed to provide max airflow, and its composite shell keeps weight
at a minimum. The DMX 5.0 sells for $370.
Full enduro: Fanny packs are all the rage
with enduro racers, so Leatt hit the drawing board and designed one of their own.
Although Leatt is best known for being
a protection company, they admitted
this pack does not provide additional
protection. Instead, the Core Hydration is
a pack that can carry water, tools and
everything else an enduro rider may need.
Get a grip: Leatt makes some of the best
gloves on the market. Their 2.0 X-Flow
glove (seen in the middle) features a
micro-injected 3D brush guard to add a
little protection to these slim, lightweight
gloves. The 1.0 gloves seen on the left and
right are minimalistic gloves, which give
riders the perception of not wearing them
Thanks for the lift: Some people might say shuttling your bike to the
top of the mountain is cheating, but if you say this is wrong, then we
don’t want to be right.
Canyon’s here: The highly anticipated German bike
company officially launched their U.S website. If you’ve
been patiently waiting to purchase a Canyon bike, now
is your time.
Sightseeing: Troy Brosnan is one of the fastest downhill
racers in the world; however, when the views are right,
he knows when to slow it down and take it all in. We
tried to do the same, but Brosnan’s Canyon Sender race
bike captured our attention.
