PUBLISH THE ARCHIVES
After reading “Down the Trail” every month, I needed more. I’ve purchased
vintage lots of MBA on eBay to get my fix. I wish there were some sort of online
archive for older issues. Say, anything over 10 years? I have never found an all-around better source of info on mountain bikes than this magazine. The archive
would be amazing!
We totally agree. It would be awesome to have all our old issues online. You would
not believe the stacks of slides and prints we have organized in rows of filing cabinets
that have never made it to the public’s eyes. It is a true treasure trove of historical
moments in mountain biking. It all comes down to manpower and the time it would
take to transfer it all to digital. Unfortunately, after putting out 12 issues, a buyer’s
guide and tending to the website, there is not a lot of spare time.
USE WHAT WORKS
The photo for the Specialized Evo
R29 (MBA, November 2013) is right
on par with my “use what works best
for you” motto. I have been wearing
Mechanix gloves for a few years now.
They are very durable, and they are
offered in various styles to suit different conditions or seasons—even
armored. Grip and protection are what
they are for, and they definitely overachieve for mountain biking. They
have them in kids’ sizes and even some
with lights. I have a set of “vents”
for summer and a thicker version for
winter. They also fit better than some
mountain bike gloves I have tried.
