We received an interesting phone call a
few weeks back with the caveat that the
information must be kept completely top
secret. They had us raise our hand and
swear that we would not tell a soul about
the bombshell they were about to drop on
us. This is what they told us: Intense is
going to a sales model that they hope will
allow them to retain their dealers as well
as sell directly to riders, all while bringing
down the prices of all their bikes. In a
world where convenience and price are
everything, we are excited to see if they
will be able to pull off this plan. The secret
can now be told. Here’s what it entails:
—In the U.S., Intense will continue to work
together with local bike shops. Both the
shops and the Intense website will offer the
same bikes for the same price.
—This allows riders the flexibility to buy the
same world-class bikes Intense is known
for directly from the manufacturer and have
the bike shipped straight to their home.
—All bikes sold in the U.S. come with
a free limited service plan, which is also
through their local shop, whether the bike
was purchased there or online.
—This also gives Intense the ability to pro-
vide faster, more effective customer service
in most riders’ “home” language and time
zone. —Regardless of where new Intense bikes
are purchased, they all come with a cus-
tom Intense-branded accessory box that
includes all your paperwork, product manu-
als and all the specialty tools required to do
final assembly on your new bike.
—Intense’s new website has been completely redesigned and has all the information you need to choose the right bike for
you, get technical support, find answers to
your questions and learn more about the
—“Our bikes are the best they’ve ever
been,” said founder/designer Jeff Steber.
“But, the price tags were keeping them out
of reach for a large majority of riders.” We
couldn’t agree more. Thanks, Intense.
